About IQAC

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) is a quality sustenance measure implemented by higher education institutions in India after accreditation by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Its primary objective is to develop a system for continuous and conscious improvement in the overall performance of the institution. IQACs work to enhance the quality of academic, administrative, and financial operations, ensuring the relevance and quality of academic and research programs, and optimizing teaching and learning methods. 

 

Key Functions:
  • Developing a Quality Culture: IQACs aim to foster a culture of quality within the institution by promoting quality assurance and enhancement activities. 
  • Planning and Monitoring: They develop and implement plans for quality improvement and monitor the progress of various activities. 
  • Ensuring Timely and Efficient Performance: IQACs work to ensure that academic, administrative, and financial tasks are carried out efficiently and effectively. 
  • Promoting Student-Centric Approaches: They strive to create a learner-centric environment and optimize teaching and learning processes. 
  • Optimizing Resources: IQACs focus on ensuring the adequacy and proper utilization of support structures and services. 
  • Sharing Best Practices: They facilitate the sharing of research findings and networking with other institutions. 
  • Preparing for Accreditation: IQACs play a crucial role in preparing institutions for reaccreditation by NAAC. 
Structure and Composition:
  • IQACs are typically headed by the principal or director of the institution.
  • They include faculty members, administrative staff, and student representatives. 
  • Some IQACs may also include members from external organizations or distinguished educationists. 
In essence, the IQAC acts as a catalyst for continuous quality improvement in higher education institutions, ensuring they meet and exceed established standards and provide a high-quality learning experience for students.
