Green Practices

                                               GREEN PRACTICES

          GREEN INITIATIVES AND WATER CONSERVATION

Utilization of RO Plant Wastewater for Gardening

As part of its commitment to environmental sustainability and water conservation, the Government Degree College for Women, Marripalem, has implemented a green initiative to reuse RO plant wastewater for campus gardening and landscaping.

To reduce water wastage and promote eco-friendly practices on campus.

 Implementation:

          •        Wastewater discharged from the college’s Reverse Osmosis (RO) water purification system is collected and channeled into storage tanks.

          •        This water is then systematically utilized for watering plants and maintaining the college gardens, ensuring that no water from the purification process goes to waste.

As part of its green campus drive and commitment to environmental stewardship, the Government Degree College for Women, Marripalem, has established and is actively maintaining a plant nursery within its premises with valuable support from the Andhra Pradesh Forest Department.

To promote biodiversity, encourage student participation in conservation efforts, and create a sustainable source of saplings for campus greening and community plantation drives.
